Ingredients

Scale

Hash Browns

  • 4 cups Frozen Hash Browns
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper

Protein

  • 4 large Eggs
  • 6 slices Turkey Bacon

Cheese and Gravy

  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Gravy

Hollandaise Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3 large Egg Yolks
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Grape Juice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the hash browns evenly and to get them crispy.
  2. Bake Hash Browns: Spread the frozen hash browns in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper. Bake for 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure both sides become golden and crispy.
  3. Cook Turkey Bacon: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the turkey bacon for 6 to 8 minutes until crispy. Once done, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.
  4. Cook Eggs: In the same skillet, cook the eggs according to your preference—either sunny-side up or scrambled. Keep them warm until assembly.
  5. Prepare Hollandaise Sauce: Whisk together egg yolks, Dijon mustard, and grape juice vinegar in a heatproof bowl. Place the bowl over simmering water to create a double boiler. Gradually add melted butter while continuously whisking until the sauce thickens. Stir in lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder to finish the sauce with a balanced flavor.
  6. Assemble the Poutine: Layer the baked hash browns on serving plates. Top with cooked eggs, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and warm gravy. Drizzle the hollandaise sauce generously over the top and finish with crumbled turkey bacon. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute turkey bacon with regular bacon or a vegetarian alternative if preferred.
  • For a spicier hollandaise, increase the cayenne pepper slightly or add a dash of hot sauce.
  • Make sure to keep the eggs and gravy warm before assembling to maintain the perfect serving temperature.
  • If you prefer a creamier gravy, consider adding a splash of milk or cream while heating.
  • This dish can be modified to be gluten-free by ensuring the gravy is made without wheat flour or using a gluten-free gravy mix.
