Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • One package buldak ramen noodles (approximately 140g)
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 scallions, chopped for garnish
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups (480ml) water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Boil the noodles: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the buldak ramen noodles and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  2. Sauté the garlic and make the sauce: In the same saucepan, add the minced garlic and sauté over medium heat for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in 2 tablespoons of gochujang and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, mixing well to combine.
  3. Poach the eggs: In a separate pot, bring water to a gentle simmer and add a pinch of salt. Carefully crack the eggs into the simmering water and poach for 3-4 minutes until the whites are set but the yolks remain soft.
  4. Add heavy cream and combine: Pour 1/2 cup heavy cream into the sauce mixture in the saucepan. Let it simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly. Then add the cooked noodles back into the sauce and toss well to coat all the noodles evenly.
  5. Serve and garnish: Divide the creamy buldak noodles between two bowls. Top each bowl with a poached egg and garnish with chopped scallions. Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy spicy goodness.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of gochujang to control the spice level according to your preference.
  • Ensure the water for poaching eggs is at a gentle simmer, not boiling, to keep the eggs intact.
  • Use fresh scallions for the best garnish flavor and color.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with coconut cream for a dairy-free option, but it will alter the flavor slightly.
