turkey  Bacon:

  • 6 slices turkey bacon, chopped

Onion Mixture:

  • ½ cup diced white onion (approximately half of 1 medium onion)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (approximately 3 large cloves)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt, more or less to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper, more or less to taste

Additional:

  • 2 16-ounce cans green beans, drained and rinsed
  • ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Cook  turkey  Bacon: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped turkey bacon and cook until crispy, about 5 to 6 minutes, stirring often.
  2. Sauté Onion: Add diced white onion to the skillet with the turkey bacon. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add Ingredients: Stir in green beans, chicken broth, minced garlic, butter, red wine vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for about 10 minutes until green beans are tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the green beans and adjust salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your preference.
