Shrimp:

  • 200g/0.5 lb shrimp (large or jumbo)

Marinade:

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp paprika powder (sweet or smoked)

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp butter (cold; salted or unsalted)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp parsley/cilantro/coriander

Instructions

  1. PREP: Remove the shells and devein the shrimp if necessary. Thaw if using frozen shrimp. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels. Marinate shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika for 30 mins. Mince garlic and chop parsley or cilantro.
  2. COOKING: Fry shrimp in olive oil on high flame for 2 minutes. Cook in batches. Set shrimp aside. Sauté garlic, add chilli flakes, butter, lemon juice, and seared shrimp. Toss until cooked through. Garnish and serve with bread.

  • Ensure not to overcook the shrimp as they cook quickly.
  • Adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of red chilli flakes used.
  • Feel free to customize by adding other herbs or spices to the dish.
