This Hot Honey Cream Cheese Dip is a creamy, cheesy, and slightly spicy appetizer perfect for any gathering. The combination of cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and hot honey creates a flavorful dip that pairs perfectly with fresh veggies, crackers, or bread.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Dip:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

For Serving:

  • Fresh veggies, crackers, or bread

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Using a hand mixer or a spatula, beat the cream cheese until it’s smooth and creamy (about 1-2 minutes).
  2. Add the sour cream to the bowl and mix until well combined.
  3. Sprinkle in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, mixing until everything is well incorporated.
  4. Add the hot honey to the mixture and mix well. If making your own hot honey, combine honey with a few red pepper flakes and let it sit for a few hours to infuse.
  5. Stir in the chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) until evenly mixed.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Transfer the dip mixture into a baking dish (a 9-inch pie dish or small casserole dish works well) and smooth out the top with a spatula.
  8. For an extra cheesy topping, sprinkle more shredded cheddar and mozzarella on top of the dip.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
  10. Carefully remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  11. Garnish with extra chopped green onions and serve warm with fresh veggies, crackers, or slices of crusty bread.
  12. For an extra kick, drizzle a little more hot honey on top just before serving.
