Dalgona Whipped Coffee is a trendy and creamy coffee beverage made by whipping instant coffee, sugar, and hot water into a frothy, fluffy topping that’s served over hot or cold milk. This simple recipe requires only three ingredients and minimal equipment, delivering a rich and visually appealing coffee treat that’s perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

Whipped Coffee Mixture

  • 1/4 cup instant coffee (Nescafe, instant espresso, or any instant coffee will work)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (can substitute with keto sweeteners)
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • To Serve

    • 8 oz cold or hot milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Whipped Coffee Mixture: In a bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and boiling water. Using a hand whisk or an electric mixer, vigorously whisk the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes thick, stiff, and pale in color, forming a smooth and fluffy foam.
  2. Prepare the Milk Base: Pour 8 ounces of your preferred cold or hot milk into a serving cup.
  3. Assemble the Drink: Spoon 1 to 3 tablespoons of the whipped coffee mixture on top of the milk. Stir gently to combine if desired or enjoy as a layered drink for visual effect.
  4. Adjust to Taste: Remember the whipped coffee is very strong in flavor, but it will dilute with the milk. For a stronger coffee flavor, use less milk and more whipped coffee topping. Conversely, add more milk for a lighter taste. Feel free to adjust the sugar quantity in the whipped mixture to your preference.

Notes

  • You can substitute sugar with keto-friendly sweeteners to reduce sugar content.
  • Instant coffee is critical to create the airy texture—the recipe does not work with brewed coffee.
  • Use an electric mixer for faster and more consistent whipping results.
  • Try different types of milk such as almond, oat, or soy for a dairy-free version.
  • Serve over ice for a refreshing iced dalgona coffee.
