Chicken
- 3 pieces Chicken breasts, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 3–4 teaspoons Garlic and herb seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Pasta & Sauce
- 1 pound Pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
- 1 jar Alfredo sauce (about 15 oz)
Bread Bowls
- 6 pieces Kaiser rolls or more if needed
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
- 3–4 teaspoons Garlic and herb seasoning (for butter mixture)
- 1/2 cup Shredded parmesan cheese
- Season and cook chicken: Season the chicken cubes with garlic and herb seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes until fully cooked and lightly browned. Remove from heat.
- Cook pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain well and set aside.
- Prepare the bread bowls: Slice the tops off the Kaiser rolls and carefully hollow out the centers, creating bread bowls without breaking the crust.
- Make garlic butter and toast bowls: Mix melted butter with garlic and herb seasoning. Brush the inside and edges of each bread bowl with this garlic butter mixture. Place the bowls on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 4-5 minutes until lightly toasted.
- Combine Alfredo chicken mixture: In a large bowl or skillet, combine cooked chicken, drained pasta, and Alfredo sauce. Stir well until everything is evenly coated and heated through.
- Assemble the bowls: Spoon the chicken Alfredo pasta mixture into each toasted bread bowl evenly. Sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese generously on top of each filled bowl.
- Bake to melt cheese: Return the filled bread bowls to the oven at 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the bread bowl become crispy.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot. Garnish with parsley or red pepper flakes if desired for extra flavor and color.
Notes
- You can use any short pasta like penne, rigatoni, or fettuccine for this recipe.
- Adjust garlic and herb seasoning to taste for a milder or stronger flavor.
- Make sure to not hollow out the bread bowls too much to avoid leakage.
- For extra richness, add a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese along with parmesan before baking.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain the crispy bread texture.
